Alex Flock

Alex Flock, B.A. Acoustic and electric guitarist extraordinaire, Alex Flock is an active musician in Vancouver’s live music community, as well being an in-demand recording and touring session musician. As a solo instrumentalist, Alex is known for his rich layering of sounds that pull percussion, bass, harmony and melody from a single guitar. Two time top 5 finalist at the Canadian Fingerstyle Guitar Competition, Fraser Macpherson Jazz Fund recipient, UBC Summer Music Institute clinician, and guitarist for the award-winning band Best Night Ever, Alex is a sought after teacher who is able to coach students in many genres including classical, blues, rock, pop, and jazz.  With an academic background in psychology, Alex inspires his students to tune in to their sound and enjoy the rewarding process of making music. In addition to his expertise in teaching guitar, Alex offers lessons in ukulele, banjo, and bass guitar.
