The following courses are available in preparation for the RCM Exams that will take place on August 8th & 9th, 2008:

West Point Grey School of Music is pleased to offer a theoretical course based on the new RCM Piano Pedagogy Certificate Program requirements. RCM has recently established three levels in Piano Pedagogy: Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced. The sum of these three levels is equivalent to the traditional ARCT Teacher's Diploma.

Our course will prepare candidates for the Elementary Pedagogy Written Exam. The topics covered will pertain to teaching beginner levels up to RCM Grade 2 and will provide a foundation for the Viva Voce Exam (which could be taken after coaching in private lessons).

The co-requisites for the Elementary Piano Pedagogy Certificate are:
• Grade 9 Piano;
• Grade 2 Rudiments; Grade 3 Harmony; Grade 3 History;
• Elementary Pedagogy Viva Voce
• Elementary Pedagogy Written

• Students who would like teaching certification before reaching the
  ARCT level;
• Performer's ARCT recipients who would like teaching certification;
• Experienced teachers who are currently uncertified.
